What is the bread that normally receives a vacation?
There is a certain quality to the bread you get when on vacation, is more condensed, less flaky, and some might consider a little boring. It's nice though, especially the buns. I really do not know where to start searching online a recipe, because it is not specific to any country. I've had in Greece, Spain, Germany, Croatia, etc. I have no idea what is different about it and what I do not know how you could even adapt a recipe. Any suggestion of a name or type of bread, it would be really useful, like a recipe. Thanks
I wish I could tell! I am from Croatia and I know exactly what kind of bread you mean. I get in bakeries all the time but can not for the life of me do at home in my bread machine. I have tried every kind of flour, all available types of yeast, all additives available, hundreds of different combinations of water, milk, egg, sugar, salt, butter, but all in vain. Not even close. I can not get the same or the bark of the same texture. I think that bakers use special additives, industrialists are not sold in stores, and perhaps their kilns differently machines and baking ovens in the kitchen of friction, which is my best estimate.
